Marine Electronics Forum - Autopilot Installation - Gil, The part number. I did have a Cetrek autopilot for 10 years before I put in the Simrad AP11 a few. Download super zip rar. This is an inboard boat with manual hydraulic steering.

Cetrek 727 Autopilot Manual
Our new (to us) boat has a Cetrek 727 Autopilot, plumbed in to our hydraulic steering system.
It seems to work OK ish (boat is on the hard so can't easily thoroughly test it) but when I twiddle the dial about I find it pulls the rudder one way then the other as I move it left to right, and the red and green arrows on the display come on alternately, but when I put it in the 'middle', both red and green arrows are on constantly, and it sounds very much like the hydraulic pump motor (if that's how it works - forgive my naivety!) is ON and PUMPING but neither valve is open and the rudder is not moving.
Not sure if this is the condition it sits in when it thinks the boat is pointing 180 degrees off-course, or if this is the norm when it's on-course (should have noted the bearing on the display at the time) but does this sound normal to anyone who has one?
Also, from time to time, even though the shore-power is plugged in and battery charger is on, it beeps and flashes up 'battery level warning' or something like that. Wires too thin from the batts to the unit maybe??
TY!
